Collection: "The Great Pollinators" Exhibition

We have chosen to showcase the great pollinators – birds, bees, and butterflies! We are so fortunate here in our little corner of Western New York to live in such a lush landscape, home to a vast variety of birds, bees, butterflies and moths. Have you taken a moment lately outside to listen to the sounds and look above or across your backyard to appreciate these aerial marvels?

"The more you look, the more you will see."
-Roger Tory Peterson

They do so much for us... Pollinators are responsible for bringing us one out of every three bites of food. They also sustain our ecosystems and produce our natural resources by helping plants reproduce. With all of the challenges pollinators face – most if not all caused by humans... Have you asked yourself, what you can do for them?

Jamestown is also home to wonderful foundations that have always supported these creatures, Roger Tory Peterson Institute and the Audoban Nature Center. You too can help by turning your own backyard into a beautiful pollinator reserve. Whether you are creating a new garden or updating your landscaping, include pollinators in your plans by planting pollinator favoured plants, create natural spaces, offer water resources, provide shelters and nesting sites. In creating these safe and inviting spaces that we too can enjoy, we can help pollinators flourish.

The artwork in this collection features beautiful specimens of each of these winged beings. From intricate ink drawn studies, watercolors filled with movement to playful depictions of fuzzy bee bums.
